  • Power of Mindful Prayers

I marvel at the power of our thoughts and

how they produce results. With that being said, are you monitoring your thoughts in a positive direction? I study more profound parts of my mind. I like to carve out time to reflect, to ponder, and to simply be. When we are in a reactive place, things can get crazy. As I strip away the layers of my mind, I can only then get more “mindful.” You may ask, what is that? The best answer for me is that “mindfulness”, is that place inside me where I am not reacting and not judging.
It is a calm place of observation.

  • Kindness & The Lightness of Letting Go

“What the world needs now is love, sweet love…”

Two important things came up for me when I thought about what I wanted to write about this month. The first is that being kind is something the world could use in a big way. Kindness begins within ourselves. Kindness radiates out and can literally change an entire room of people. So often throughout the day, I hear so much negativity. What if we decided that the first thing we did before getting out of bed, is think of all the things we are thankful for and make an effort to be kind to those that cross our path.

  • Strength Becomes a Muscle

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” (Maya Angelou)

Today a wonderful friend sent me a text with one of those sayings you find on the internet. It struck me deeply. The content bowled me over.

  • The Spiritual Warrior Checklist

Each day we are greeted with a new dawn,

and it is up to us to create a checklist shall we say of how to navigate through times of stress, or even just to a more joyful existence on a day to day basis. Having an inner place to go to, can be quite delicious. It can energize you, it can organize you, it can calm you.

  • Maintaining The Peaceful Moments

It’s funny how we can get to a really good place inside ourselves, only to have it all come crashing down in a matter of moments.

It is a gentle element that can serve you well, when you can shift your emotions, or your opinions, or even your spiritual understanding to help you through whatever is presenting itself. It doesn’t even have to be something big, it can be something that we just need to take a moment and breath, and perhaps see something other than our view.

  • Riding The Waves

    Life can be rather interesting.

It can be graceful and beautiful, as well as turbulent and scary. It is so amazing to me what a difference a day can make. So how do you ride the waves of the ups and downs of life?  The bible has a great verse that says, “to be in this world and not of it.” I truly believe it is only now in this passage of my life that I can glean what that really means for me.

  • Shifts

Recently what has had my attention is the ability to shift with circumstances, people, and many of the variables that life hands us.

It is a gentle element that can serve you well, when you can shift your emotions, or your opinions, or even your spiritual understanding to help you through whatever is presenting itself.  It doesn’t even have to be something big, it can be something that we just need to take a moment and breath, and perhaps see something other than our view.

  • Facing Fear

Courage is innate in all of us.

It is an element that comes forth when we are in a place of fear, or perhaps a quandary of what to do, and which way to turn in our lives. For me, sometimes I feel paralyzed on how to move forward, but when I step back I can see a larger view that gives me solutions or creates momentum in order to move forward. I realize now, that is the courageous part of me. That is the place that I dwell, that allows me to turn things around.

  • Being True

Being true to yourself is not as easy as one would think.

It is almost like a true commitment to your character. So often we want to please or be liked, or rather “think we should” do this or that. Breaking the chain of thinking and letting go of that dialogue in your head that doesn’t serve you is what that task at hand will require. It’s like rebooting your brain.
